G is for... "La Granja"

October 31, 2016

This week we are learning all about "La Granja" (The Farm).  We are learning to pronounce the letter "G" (hey), and we are learning about Guatemala and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.  We will be reviewing colors and numbers by coloring and counting pictures of farm animals.  We will be reading a book (The Little Red Hen) and playing Tic-Tac-Toe.  We're listening to a silly song called "La Granja" and learning what noises different animals make in Spanish.  (Did you know that animals speak Spanish, too?)  Ask your students what noises the different animals make in Spanish- some of them are pretty funny!  Also ask about Guatemala and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.  What is the name of the bird on Guatemala's flag?  What special prize did Gabriel Garcia Marquez win?

Keep practicing your Spanish!   On the website, students can watch the letter "G" video and play the "Granja" game.  Also be sure to keep reviewing all the other vocabulary we have learned.  Our list of words is getting really long now!

Coming up next week... H is for "La Hora" (Telling Time).
