This week we are learning about the letter "L" and we're learning about "Los Lugares" (Places). The pronunciation of the letter "L" in Spanish is "El-lay." We are also learning about Lima, Perú and Mario López. As we learn about places in the community, we can also review the prepositions as we answer the question, "¿Dónde está?" (Where is it?). We can also review family member vocabulary by asking where certain members of the family are. As you drive around in your neighborhood or as you are doing errands, ask your students to describe the places they see. Also ask about Lima and Mario López. What kind of a city is Lima? How did Mario López become famous?
On the website, students can watch the letter "L" video and play the "Lugares" game. It would also be great to go back and review the numbers, family members, colors, prepositions, classroom objects, and house vocabulary.
Coming up next week... Ll for "llevar" (clothing).
