We are continuing to learn about introducing our family and friends in Spanish. This week, we are learning to ask, "¿Cómo te llamas?" (What's your name?) and to answer, "Me llamo ______." (My name is _________) We are also learning to present other people by saying, "Se llama _________." (His/ her name is ________). It is important to say, "Mucho gusto" (Nice to meet you) when we meet someone new. In Spanish speaking countries, people greet one another with a handshake or even a kiss on the cheek. We have been practicing our conversational skills this week with our family of puppets.
We are also continuing to learn about Panama this week. We have learned all about the Panama Canal and how the locks work. This week, we will be looking at a traditional dance and hearing traditional music from Panama. This style of music is called, "Tamborito."
