For the month of February, we'll be talking about Colombia! This is Mr. Arango's native country, so you can ask him all about it! This week, we'll be watching a 7 Facts video about Colombia and learning about cool stuff like the "rainbow river!" (Can you guess what gives the rainbow it's range of colors? It's moss and algae!) We'll also learn why Colombia has a similar flag to its neighbors, Ecuador and Venezuela. We'll hear about "El Dorado"- the city of gold and we'll discover that Colombia is full of all sorts of animals. As we study about Colombia this month, we'll be focusing on learning about animals.
There are several videos on the "Videos" tab about Colombia that you can watch at home to learn more about this beautiful country.
We're also gearing up for our Extravaganza de Español which is coming up in only a month! The students have been working very hard to learn songs, dances, and plays all in Spanish! You'll be so amazed by all that they have learned! Tickets will go on sale next week through the RIC box office. Look for a letter from me with more details that will be coming home this week. I can't wait to show off all of your students' hard work! Prepare to be wowed!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
